The Mississippi Court of Appeals will convene on the campus of º£½ÇÉçÇø in Itta Bena on March 19 at 10 a.m. to hear a criminal appeal. A three-judge panel will convene in the Carver A. Randle Auditorium, located in the W.A. Butts Social Science Building.

ITTA BENA, Miss. — The Office of Academic Affairs at º£½ÇÉçÇø is excited to announce Dr. Shanell G. Bailey, instructor in the Department of English and Foreign Languages, as the 2025–2026 Humanities Teacher of the Year, recognizing her commitment to academic excellence, student engagement, and innovative teaching practices.

º£½ÇÉçÇø proudly announces that Dr. Shequite W. Johnson, Assistant Professor of Rural Public Policy and Planning, has been selected as a Fellow for two highly competitive leadership programs: the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Community Leadership Network and the Delta Leadership Institute.

Due to ongoing challenges related to power outages across campus and continued travel concerns throughout the region, º£½ÇÉçÇø remains closed at this time.

The university anticipates reopening on Monday, February 2, pending improved conditions and continued power restoration. A final determination regarding campus operations will be communicated as soon as assessments are complete.
